...As Youths and People of Warri Federal Constituency Must Choose Peace Over Conflict
The youths of Warri Federal Constituency must not allow themselves to be used as tools of violence, division, and destruction. Those who encourage young people to take up arms against their neighbors will not send their own children to the frontlines of any conflict.
Their sons and daughters are in reputable universities at home and abroad, acquiring education, building careers, and preparing for prosperous futures. Meanwhile, they seek to persuade other people's children to risk their lives, destroy their communities, and jeopardize their own futures.
Young people must understand that no political, ethnic, or personal interest is worth sacrificing their lives, their dreams, or the peace of their communities. Violence leaves behind only pain, loss, and underdevelopment. The future of Warri belongs to its youths, and that future can only be secured through peace, education, enterprise, and unity, not through war and bloodshed.
As concerns continue to arise over the ward delineation issues in Warri Federal Constituency, this is a sincere appeal to all stakeholders, particularly the Ijaw, Itsekiri, and Urhobo ethnic nationalities, to exercise restraint and embrace peaceful means of resolving disagreements.
The diversity of Warri has always been a source of strength, and no issue should be allowed to destroy the bonds that have existed among the people for generations.
The ward delineation matter should be addressed through lawful channels, constructive dialogue, consultations, and all other peaceful mechanisms provided by the Constitution and relevant institutions.
Disagreements are natural in any democratic society, but they must be resolved through reason, understanding, and respect for the rule of law, not through threats, violence, or calls for war.
The people of Warri have shared communities, businesses, friendships, and family ties across ethnic lines for decades. Any crisis will affect everyone regardless of tribe or political affiliation.
History has shown that conflict benefits only a few while the larger population suffers the consequences of insecurity, economic hardship, displacement, and loss of lives.
Therefore, community leaders, traditional rulers, political actors, youth organizations, religious leaders, and all concerned citizens must speak with one voice in support of peace. Let every grievance be pursued through legal and democratic processes. Let dialogue replace hostility, and let understanding replace suspicion.
Warri must not be allowed to descend into crisis. The Ijaw, Itsekiri, and Urhobo people have more to gain from cooperation than from conflict. The peace, stability, and development of Warri Federal Constituency should remain the collective priority of all.
Let us choose peace over violence, dialogue over confrontation, and unity over division.
Peace is the responsibility of all, and the future of Warri depends on it.
